RobotReady™ for care

Readiness infrastructure for robots in care.

RobotReady connects facility readiness, robot readiness, and Value Validation stage evidence into one framework, so care homes and robotics vendors can deploy robots with confidence — not guesswork.

Why now

Care robots changed.
Readiness assessment didn't.

Robots built for open, standardized floorplans are being asked to work in real care homes — existing buildings, established routines, and staff who never designed their workflows around a machine. Readiness gets assumed on both sides, and adoption fails quietly.

01

Brownfield reality

Real care homes are narrow corridors, legacy call systems, and shift patterns set years ago — not the open, modern floorplans robots are designed for.

02

Readiness runs both ways

A ready facility with the wrong robot fails. A good robot in an unready facility fails too. Most adoption efforts only check one side.

03

No shared standard

Facility readiness and robot readiness are judged separately, informally, and inconsistently — with no common criteria either side can point to.

How it works

From first conversation to a confident deployment decision.

01

Co-design workshop

Refine facility-side and robot-side criteria together, with the care home, the vendor, and RobotReady in the room.

02

Facility assessment

Evaluate leadership, staff acceptance, workflows, governance, and physical space against the RobotReady Facility Index.

03

Robot assessment

Evaluate physical adaptability, robustness, interoperability, and safety fit against the Robot Readiness Index.

04

Value Validation stage

Run both assessments at a real, existing site — not a lab — and capture what actually breaks.

05

Joint findings

Score, compare, and document results in a shared report both the facility and the vendor can act on.

06

Go / no-go decision

Leave with evidence-backed guidance: scale, adjust scope, or stop — before a costly full rollout.

The framework

One framework,
two sides of readiness.

01 / Facility
F

Facility Readiness Index

  • Leadership & vision for robot adoption
  • Staff acceptance & workforce readiness
  • Care workflows & operations fit
  • Governance — data, privacy, regulation
  • Physical infrastructure & space
  • Culture & resident/family acceptance
02 / Robot
R

Robot Readiness Index

  • Physical adaptability to existing spaces
  • Robustness in unpredictable settings
  • Interoperability with legacy systems
  • Human-robot interaction for all users
  • Safety & certification for brownfield sites
  • Cost & maintenance fit

Why RobotReady is different

Not a checklist.
Not a sales pitch.

01

Two-sided,
not one-sided

Most readiness efforts assess only the robot or the organization. RobotReady scores both against the same real deployment.

02

Built on
brownfield sites

Every criterion is developed and tested through Value Validation at real, operating care homes — not idealized test environments.

03

Research-grade
rigor

Academic validation sits behind the methodology — not just internal opinion.

04

Neutral by
design

RobotReady doesn't sell robots or run care homes. It assesses fit, so the judgment is one either side can trust.
